How to: Use the Mini Map for Horizontal Scrolling

Easily navigate wide tables using the mini map, which allows you to scroll horizontally with your mouse, no trackpad required.

Updated today

Wide tables often contain more information than can fit on your screen at once. The mini map makes it easier to move across those tables without needing a trackpad or a mouse with horizontal scrolling.

What is the mini map?

The minimap is a small navigation bar that appears on wide tables. It gives you a quick way to scroll left and right using your mouse, so you can access columns that are off-screen.

How to use the mini map

  1. Open a table with more columns than can fit on your screen.

  2. Look for the mini map on bottom right of the table.

  3. Click and drag within the mini map to move horizontally across the table.

  4. Release your mouse when you reach the columns you want to view.

Turning the mini map off

Each user can choose whether they want to use the minimap.

To turn it off:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select User settings.

  3. Turn off the mini map setting.

Tips

The minimap is especially helpful if you use a standard mouse, do not have a trackpad, or frequently work with wide tables that require side-to-side scrolling.
