Navigating Your Portal as a Faculty/Staff Member and Parent

Understand what's on your portal grid and how to move between your staff sections and your students' forms.

If you work at the school and also have a student enrolled there, your August portal brings both roles together in one place. You'll see the same staff tiles as any faculty or staff member, plus extra tiles for your own students' requests and medications.

This article and the video walk through what each tile shows and how to move between your staff sections and your family's forms.

What's on your portal grid

When you log in, your portal displays a variety of tiles pulled from your school's student information system. As a faculty or staff member, these typically include:

  • Rosters: all students assigned to you in the SIS (for any section type)

  • Academics: if you're a teacher

  • Athletics: if you're a coach

  • Emergencies: emergency contact and health information for your students

You must have students assigned to you in the student information system to see a roster, or any course, academic, or athletic section.

Extra tiles for parents

If you're also a parent at the school, your portal adds tiles for your own student, which may include Students, Requests, and/or Medications.

The Requests tile

The Requests tile shows your active form requests. Clicking into a request packet opens the forms so you can complete them as a parent.

Moving between sections

From the Requests packet, you can go back to your home portal at any time. From there, you can:

  • Submit a referral

  • Check any of your academic or athletic-related staff sections

Just select the tile you need from the grid to jump back into that section.
