Behavioral Health: Documents & File Tag Overview

Safely store and tag documents for future reference. This article provides the importance of File tags and their visibility to users.

Updated over a week ago

When caring for students, you may need to reference a record or document for them. August Schools makes it safe and secure to file those documents on the student card. All external files uploaded into the platform either by guardians through the family portal or by practitioners directly are converted to PDFs and saved in the student card in the Documents tab.

Certain electronic forms like consents and waivers that are e-signed by third parties can be converted to Documents as well and will appear in the Documents tab.

File Tags

File tags are the way different documents are categorized and filed within the system. Documents with with immunization file tags will be visible on that student's immunization card, and likewise for medications, insurance and the like.

File tags can be managed from the Documents tab on the student card. Documents can also be added to a student's card from this tab and tagged appropriately. Documents collected via the parent portal either through enrollment or through a form request will generally be tagged appropriately automatically.

Note: Documents with no file tag will only be visible to yourself. See the table below on what tags are available to which roles!
