August Schools offers a seamless, bi-directional API integration with Blackbaud that eliminates duplicate data entry and ensures student information is synchronized across all platforms, keeping everyone on the same page.
Initiating Blackbaud Sync
Someone with the “SKY API Data Sync” role* in Blackbaud authorizes our application in Blackbaud.
If no one currently has that role, someone with a “Platform Manager” role can give themselves the role.
After connecting in Blackbaud, the Sys Admin logs into August and navigates to the Settings » Instance Settings » SIS Settings tab.
Select "Blackbaud" from the Select Your SIS to get started drop-down (if it hasn't been set yet).
Toggle on the “Blackbaud sync”; doing this will open a window in Blackbaud asking for credentials.
Login to Blackbaud, after which you will be redirected back to August. This user’s credentials will be used to pull data from Blackbaud.
The sync is enabled!
*If you would like us to do a one-time sync to pull student allergies and conditions from Blackbaud through the API, the user initiating the sync will also need the Nurse role in Blackbaud.
