Your August portal can be customized to reflect the language you want to be displayed in the portal. By setting your portal landing page title, description and login page description, you can create a more customized way to describe the portal to families and faculty when they login.
This article will walk you through how to update your Instance Settings and Portal configuration settings so your portals reflect your custom text.
Where to edit this in August
Navigate to Settings.
Select Instance Settings.
Open Portal Configuration.
Edit any of the options and click Save.
Refresh the portal to view the changes.
Below are the following options that you can edit in the portal configuration settings and where these changes are reflected.
Editable options
Portal landing page title
This is what the parents see when they login into the portal for the first time.
It can be edited by changing the text in the text box (displayed below) which is present in the portal configuration page under instance settings.
Portal landing page description
This is the description of the portal that the parents see when they login to the portal for the first time.
It can be edited by changing the text in the text box (displayed below) which is present in the portal configuration page under instance settings.
Portal login page description
This is what the users of the parent/faculty portal see when they are logging into the portal. This is visible at every login attempt.
It can be edited by changing the text in the text box (displayed below) which is present in the portal configuration page under instance settings.
The text present inside the square brackets [] is called a placeholder. A placeholder is what is displayed in the portal and the link present inside the circular brackets () is where you are redirected to, when you click the placeholder.
