Medications Overview
Updated over a year ago

Managing medications is a critical responsibility for many school nurses and August Schools offers a variety of tools to support these workflows including: tracking medication inventory, medication administration, and filing associated documentation.

All medication inventory can be managed in the Medications > Inventory section, which is connected to medication administration actions so that administrations appropriately decrement the amount of inventory in the relevant medication. All medication inventories can be scoped to the given clinic room number.

Medication administrations can be scheduled or administered as needed, which can be tracked from several places in the platform including the Medication > Administrations section and within the Encounters documentation experience.

Student Medications

Student medications refer to all medications which are taken by a given student at school. Each student medication has inventory and status which can be controlled by the school nurse and can be found on the bottom of the Medications > Inventory section.

Keep in mind that the student medication inventory list on the Medications > Inventory page is scoped to medications that will be administered by school clinic staff. But, self-carry medications can be found on the student's card in the medication tab.
