Encounters are how users document each incident of support in the August Schools platform. Encounters should have appropriate titles for the types of support they document, and the types of support often dictates which users should be using the encounters. Encounters also have statuses before, during, and after the care is documented. Users can now edit all of the above attributes on an encounter by following these steps:
Step One: Navigate to the Encounters > Templates page.
Step Two: Remain on the Encounters tab of the page.
Step Three: Select the row for the encounter template you wish to edit from the table.
You may also select the 'Filters' button narrow down the table by template or creator to find the template.
Once you click on the row in the table for the appropriate encounter template, the page will refresh onto an individual page for the encounter template.
Step Four: Select the 'Edit template' button.
A pop-up menu will appear with several fields that you can update for the encounter template:
The 'Template title' field is the internal title of the template as it appears in the dropdown menu on the Encounters > History page and on the table on Encounters > Templates page.
The 'Default title' field is what each encounter that is created by a user using the encounter template will be named.
The 'Initial status' field allows you to choose what encounter status each encounter created by a user using the encounter template should have upon creation.
The 'Visible to roles' field allows you to designate which of the roles to which you have access should be able to create, view, and edit encounters created by users using this encounter template.
Step Five: Select 'Confirm' on the pop-up menu.
